Helen L. Dunlea

LOVELL — Helen L. Dunlea, 100, of Lovell, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at Mineral Springs. She had lived in Lovell for 40 years, coming from Reading, Mass.

She was born in West Roxbury, Mass. on Dec. 12, 1917, the daughter of J. Felix and Mary Brideau Arsenault. She married Robert Dunlea and had been a homemaker all of her life. Helen was store manager at Fabric World in Reading, Mass., before moving to Maine.

She loved playing cards with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She was a lifetime fan of the Red Sox. Helen had been a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Society. She volunteered at the “Dinner Bell” and St. Vincent De Paul thrift store. To her, family was above all else.

She is survived by her children, Robert Dunlea Jr. and his wife Mary of The Villages, Fla., Edward Dunlea and his wife Linda of Lovell, William Dunlea and his wife Joanne of Barrington, N.H., Patricia Heon and her husband Maurice of Columbia, Conn., Jane Cuthbert and her husband Donald of Derry, N.H., Daniel Dunlea of The Villages, Fla., and Elizabeth Lodge and her husband Bruce of Cumming, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Sr. in 1987; four sisters; three brothers; a daughter-in-law, Deirdre Dunlea; and a great-grandson, Hunter Lodge.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Fryeburg. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday evening from 4 to 8 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren St., Fryeburg. Interment will be in the spring at #4 Cemetery in Lovell.
