SEBAGO — Helen E. Rogers, 81, of Sebago, died on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Bridgton Health Care Center after a long illness.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., on July 17, 1934, a daughter of Charles and Lillian (Stevens) Barrett. She grew up in Winchester, Mass., and attended local schools, later graduating from Randolph High School in Randolph, Vt.

Helen worked as a nurse for much of her life, mostly at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked hunting. Helen was an avid Red Sox and NASCAR fan. She was an excellent cook, known for her baking, and she loved animals, especially raising her chickens and collecting the eggs. She loved her family most of all, and will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband, Robert Tabor Sr.; a son, Daryl Scott Tabor; three sisters, Barbara Smith, Dorothy Mountfort and Joan Seymour; and a brother, Charles Barrett.

Surviving are five sons: Bob Tabor and wife Joan of Bethel, Vt., Dick Tabor and fiancée Joyce Ricci of Denmark, Alan Tabor of Sebago, Ron Tabor and wife Maureen of Denmark, and Lyndon Rogers of Denmark; her former husband, Raymond Rogers; and also 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friend, Janet Anderson of Sebago.
