HARRISON — A Harrison man died Tuesday evening when his car struck a guardrail and rolled over on Route 117.

At approximately 6:50 p.m., Cumberland County deputies responded to an emergency call in Harrison, and met a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on Harrison Road at 92 mph in a 55 mph zone. Since the deputies were already assigned to the first call, they continued on to the scene.

Moments later, the deputies were informed of a single motor vehicle crash on the Norway Road in Harrison. It was reported that the operator of the vehicle involved in the crash had been ejected from the vehicle.

A short time later, a member of the Harrison Fire Department arrived on scene and found the lone occupant and operator of the motor vehicle deceased. The man was identified as Kenneth K. Bryant.

According to police, witnesses to the crash claim that the vehicle struck a guardrail and flipped 10 to 12 times.

Deputies responding to the scene discovered that the vehicle involved in the crash, was the same vehicle observed traveling at 92 mph moments before when they were responding to the original emergency call.

Bryant was the only occupant and was not wearing a seatbelt. He also had a suspended license.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash, police reported. The fatality is being re-constructed by CCSO accident re-constructionists.
