Harold S. Adams Jr.

CASCO — Harold S. Adams Jr., 71, of Casco died June 16, 2012 at Bridgton Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Harrison on Dec. 18, 1940 to Harold and Gladys (Andrews) Adams.

He worked hard all his life. His first job was as a pinsetter at the bowling alley in Bridgton. He enlisted in the military at age 17, first in the Marines and then the Army and Army Reserves, spending time in Germany and France, where he handled communications and learned how to cook.

After his discharge, he worked for the Portland School Department, Hancock Lumber and finally spent 25 years with the Maine Department of Transportation, from which he retired in 2000.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, watching the Red Sox and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Gloria (Richardson); three daughters, four granddaughers, a grandson, a great-grandson and 11 brothers and sisters.

Services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30 at L.A. Barre Cemetery in Denmark.
