HARRISON — Harley Ana Carlton, 54, of Harrison, died in the hospital with family by her side on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, in Lewiston, after a five-year battle with cancer.

Harley was born on Feb. 5, 1964, in Collettsville, North Carolina. She joined the United States Army in 1989 and served for two years. This is where she met her husband, David Carlton, whom she married on March 20, 1990. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 2008, with a Bachelor’s of Science and Computer Technology.

Harley is survived by her husband David; her two daughters, Scarlet Ashley and Tara; three grandchildren, Annalee (6 years), Lilith (4 years), and Quinton (2 years); and siblings, Dan and Sam Coffee. She took great pride in raising her granddaughter Annalee for the past five years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Coffee and father Arvil Coffee, of Collettsville, North Carolina.

Harley was an incredibly strong person, who faced many hardships in her life head-on with sheer will and determination. Her compassion and willingness to help others touched all those who knew her and will not be forgotten.
