SACO — Harland F. Eastman, 87, of Saco, died on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Gosnell Memorial House in Scarborough, after a brief illness.

He was born to Elmer and Marcia (Rice) Eastman on June 28, 1928, in Porter. He was educated in Porter schools.

On Sept. 4, 1971, he married the love of his life, Theresa Harvey in South Casco.

Harley was a man of many interests. He loved to hunt and fish with his kids and grandkids. He also loved to sit around recalling all of the adventures from those trips. When he wasn’t hunting or fishing, he could often be found tinkering around the garage. He had a passion for fixing anything with a motor. His caring demeanor, genuineness and sense of humor will be forever ingrained in those who knew him.

He had been employed for many years at F.W. Cunningham, a job that he treasured and spoke of frequently.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Mae Murphy; three brothers and a sister.

Harland is survived by his wife of 43 years, Theresa Eastman of Saco; his children, Buddy Eastman of Hiram, Patty Murphy of Scarborough, Sharon Murphy of Old Orchard Beach, Julie Murphy of Saco, Bill Murphy of Waterboro, Diana Leach of North Hampton, N.H., Michael Kimball of Turner, Bruce Eastman of Florida, Marla Lange of Indiana, Lisa Eastman of Indiana and Gina Rydin of Alabama; four grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
