NORWAY — H. Lorna Hemingway, 99, of Norway, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at the Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, with her loving daughters at her side.

She was born on Apr. 24, 1915, in Hebron, a daughter of Robie A. Sturtevant and Amy M. Turner. She attended schools in Hebron, Buckfield and South Paris, graduating from South Paris High School in 1935.

On Jan. 15, 1938, she married, Clyde Hemingway and made their home in Norway.

Lorna worked in various manufacturing facilities in the area including Wilner Wood Products, B.E. Cole Shoe and the Miller Shoe Shop, from where she retired in July of 1978.

She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, but her greatest pastime was discovering family history and genealogy. She was a former member of the Hebron Historical Society.

Lorna is survived by her four daughters, Janice Walker of Waterford and Florida, Joyce Kennagh of South Paris, Joan Hill of North Norway and Jude Nason of Albany Township; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren; one step great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Robie A. Sturtevant; her mother, Amy (Turner) George; her husband, Clyde, on Jan. 31, 2004; a brother, Franklin Sturtevant; and a sister, Clara Bradford.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
