Grant Plummer Bio

Candidate: Grant Plummer

Background: My wife, Sally, and I moved to Casco in 2000 when we stumbled upon our dream farmhouse, an 1825 Cape. Two renovations and four children later, we now raise our family on a heaping dose of fresh air and farm life as we tend our chickens, beef cows, free range turkeys, laying hens, and broiler chickens in addition to making maple syrup, tending bees, and cultivating our garden.

I am fortunate to have grown up in the Lake Region. I am a small business owner and am proud to be the third generation of my family to be constructing and renovating homes in Maine.

Community involvement: My commitment to our community has been evident throughout my time in Casco. For many years, I have been a volunteer for Casco Days. I have also served as president of the Casco Village Church and have been co-director of the Casco Village Church Annual Flea Market for many years.

Presently, I am chairman the Casco Open Space Commission and I am a member of the Casco Energy Committee.

Over the past 10 months, I have sat on the Shoreland Zone Review Committee for the Department of Environmental Protection in Augusta.

My involvement in this community supports my belief that we all are responsible for making our community a great place to live, work and raise our families. I am committed to doing this not only for my own family, but for all of us who live in the town of Casco.
