Born in Stoneham, Mass., on May 29, 1933, he was the son of the late Gerald M. Doucette Sr., and Shirley E. Doucette. He resided in many places throughout his life including Falmouth Foreside, Maine, where his love of boating began. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. His favorite was a 1970 Dodge PowerWagon pickup truck, affectionately known as the Purple People Eater.

For over 50 years, Gerry owned and operated Lakeside Pines Campground in North Bridgton, Maine. It is where he met thousands of extended family members making lasting summer memories. He could be seen throughout the campground driving around in his golf cart that had been modified to resemble his purple PowerWagon. He touched so many lives and his presence will be felt for many years to come.

Along with his wife of 63 years, Gerry leaves behind his children, Gregory Doucette and his wife Maureen of Maynard, Mass., Bethanne Baker and her husband Matthew of North Bridgton, Todd Doucette of Titusville, Florida, Mark Doucette and his wife Dorothy of Harrison, Scott Doucette of North Bridgton and daughter-in-law Brenda Doucette of North Bridgton.
