COLEMAN, FLA. — Gerald E. Davis Sr., 87, of Coleman, Fla. and formerly of North Baldwin, died on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014.

He was born in Lovell on Aug. 28, 1927, a son of George E. Davis and Celia McAlister Davis. He attended Fryeburg Academy.

He was a World War II veteran. He owned his own business, Gerald E. Davis and Sons Trucking Inc. for 45 years. He worked as a deputy sheriff for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for two years.

He was a 50-year member of the Greenleaf Masonic Lodge in Cornish, a 25-year member of the Mt. Etna Grange in North Baldwin, an Honorary Lifetime Member of the American Motorcycle Association, and an Honorary Lifetime Member of the North Baldwin Fire Department. He recently attended the United Methodist Church in Coleman, Fla.

He was predeceased by a son, Gerald E. Davis Jr.; and two brothers, Lewis and Norman Davis.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 64 years, Evelyn Davis of Coleman, Fla.; two daughters, Eleanor Jean Richardson of Coleman, Fla. and Elizabeth Joan Fox of Norway; a son, George E. Davis of Baldwin; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
