George Bucknell

LADY LAKE, FLA. — George “Stubby” Bucknell, 77, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at The Villages Regional Hospital in Lady Lake, Fla.

Born on Sept. 25, 1935 in Porter, to the late George Charles Bucknell and Doris (nee Rice) Peterson, he has been a winter resident of Lady Lake since 2000. He was a 31-year resident of Fryeburg.

He was an Army veteran serving from 1956–1962.

He retired from Fairpoint Telephone Company in 2000.

George was past president of Interstate Snow Goers Snowmobile Club of Fryeburg.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janet; four children, Lynn Bucknell of Windham, Carl and his wife Brie of Acushnet, Mass., Lori Tibbetts and her husband Scott, and Leigh Kiesman and her husband Paul, all of Denmark; brother, Richard and his wife Sherrill of Canyon City, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
