George Dennison Jr.

SCARBOROUGH — George A. Dennison Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, with family by his side at the Maine Veteran's Home in Scarborough.

Just turning 93 on Dec. 24th, he lived a great life. Our father served proudly in the U.S. Army and protected our freedom in WWII and Korean wars.

He worked for NCR and then started his owned company, Dennison Business Forms. After retirement, he worked for the Maine Turnpike at the Gray and Auburn tolls, until he was 80 years old.

He was a graduate of Deering High School, a longtime resident of Gray, and a member of the Cole Farm's counter crew.

While serving as Chairman of School Board for Lake Region School District, he arranged to have the National Guard build an athletic field for the students. A sign was dedicated in his name. Our Dad was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Kora Shriners in Lewiston.

George and his deceased ex-wife H. Jean Dennison were predeceased by son Brett, and survived by their three daughters, Anne E. Dennison, Lynn A. Dennison Grovo and her husband Skip Grovo, and Carol J. Dennison. He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, with a third on the way.

Private funeral services are being arranged by Hall Funeral Home of Casco, and will take place during the week of January 4th. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhomeinc.com

Our family appreciates the amazing care he received at the Maine Veteran's home and the Honor Flag departure ceremony. We ask that you remember our Dad by raising a glass in his memory.
