BEST IN THE STATE — Eklektic Jazz Choir won the Multi-Jazz Choir Division at the Maine State Vocal Jazz Festival in Ellsworth last weekend, with “Outstanding Musicianship” awards won by Isabel Hodgman-Burns, Erin Friberg and Eklektic’s rhythm section (best rhythm section). JAZZ ENSEMBLE REMAINS DOMINANT — Fryeburg Academy’s Vocal Jazz Ensemble won the Division I Maine State Title at the Maine State Vocal Jazz Festival in Ellsworth last weekend for the eighth year in a row, winning three of five “Outstanding Musicianship” awards in the division. Awards were won by seniors Allie Gagnon, Eliza Neidlinger and the VJE rhythm section!
