CASCO — Franklin Edgar Bray, 73, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 18, 1941, the son of Edgar S. and Maxine D. E. (Eaton) Bray. Franklin grew up in Portland and graduated from Deering High School, class of 1959. He proudly served his country in the HYPERLINK "http://www.legacy.com/memorial-sites/navy/?personid=172981361&affiliateID=1444"United States Navy from 1959–1963.
During his time in the service, Franklin studied at the Naval Dental School in Rhode Island and at the Marine Field Medical School in California; and he completed a one-year tour of duty in Okinawa for attachment with the 3rd Marine Division.
On Sept. 23, 1961, Franklin married Sandra Lee Siewertsen, and together they raised three daughters. He was a jack-of-all-trades, working at various positions throughout his life, including; UPS, J.E. Gould, Oakhurst Dairy, and BJ’s. Franklin was a kind man, who was well-liked and respected by those who knew him.
Franklin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Bray; daughters, Belinda Moulton of Naples, Julie Allen of Poland and Cynthia Bray of Turner; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. the same day.
