Frank P. Hebert

BUXTON — Frank P. Hebert (Papa), of Buxton, died unexpectedly on March 31, 2011.

He was born in Casco on Dec. 24, 1925, to Albert and Abbie Peterson Hebert. He attended Hollis schools. His greatest loves were family, fishing and baseball. Frank was an avid Yankee fan married to an avid Red Sox fan, Leola McLeese, for 65 years. Their family always enjoyed their battle of wills during baseball season.

During World War II, Frank proudly served in the U.S. Navy.

A hard worker all his life, he worked as a logger for the Haskells of Hollis Center, Keddy’s Manufacturing of Windham, Rogers Fibre in Buxton until closure and Nichols of Portland, until his retirement in 1985. For many years, Frank volunteered with the West Buxton Fire Department.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Leola Hebert; three daughters, Lillian Butterfield of Buxton, Judy Rowe of Saco and Suzanne Richards of Waterboro; two granddaughters and six grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Blanche Harriman of Standish; a brother, Harold Hebert of Standish; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Cass and Beatrice Hutchins; brothers, Albert, James and Gene Hebert; and a grandson.

Visiting hours were on Sunday, April 3, at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, located on the corners of Routes 202 and 4A (13 Portland Road) in Buxton (Bar Mills). A graveside service will be held in the spring at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hollis.
