Frank Bartlett III, 90

HARRISON — Frank “Dana” Bartlett III, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 in Harrison.

He was born on Nov. 3, 1930 in Sharon, Mass.

Dana attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry, and graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana, where he earned his Master of Science and pursued his doctorate, as well. Dana was in the Air Force and retired as a captain. After college, Dana taught Reproductive Endocrinology for three years at the Boston University School of Medicine, worked briefly as a salesman for Pfizer Corp., and was ultimately hired by an up-and-coming ultra-filtration company, Millipore Corp. in Bedford Mass. Millipore was a great choice as Dana would be instrumental in their becoming a multi-million corporation.

After retiring at an early age, Dana and his wife, Edith, moved to Cape Cod where he sold residential and commercial real estate. Three years later, they moved to a farm in Harrison, where they raised sheep, built residential housing and opened Deerwood Gardens, where they sold field-grown daylilies and perennials for 11 years.

Dana will be remembered by his family, friends and the many who knew him for his sense of humor, great advice and willingness to help others. “Grampie” will be sorely missed by his family who loved and valued him more than anything else in the world.

Dana is survived by his wife of 66 years, Edith, and blessed to have three children, Lizz, Barbara and Jane; five granddaughters; and six great grandchildren.
