Faith L. Strout Vance, 77

RAYMOND — Faith Louise Strout Vance, 77, died peacefully Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Bridgton Hospital.

She was born in Portland, the daughter of Granville G. and Velma G. Strout. Faith lived in Raymond all of her life on the family farm. She attended Raymond schools and graduated from Gorham High School. After high school she worked as a bank teller, than went to work for New England Telephone Company and retired from Verizon Telephone with almost 28 years of service.

Faith was the owner and operator of E.R. Clough General Merchandise, also known as the "candy store" from July 4, 1987 until Oct. 4, 2013. Faith also enjoyed snowmobiling, flowers and her pets. Her cat Amber was her favorite. Faith was also involved in the Riverside Grange in Raymond, Sabbathday Lake Grange in New Gloucester and the State Grange. She also belonged to the Telephone Pioneers.

Faith was predeceased by her parents. Surviving are her son Douglas Vance of Raymond; three brothers, Dale Strout of Springfield, Mass., Thornton Strout and Eugene Strout, both of Raymond; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside service at the Riverside Cemetery in Raymond will be announced in the spring. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home, Casco.
