OTISFIELD — Evelyn J. McAllister, 92, of Otisfield passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at Country Village Assisted Living in Casco.

She was born in Waterford on Dec. 11, 1920, a daughter of G. Ernest and Hazel Kimball Winslow. Evelyn grew up in Chatham, N.H. where she attended a one-room schoolhouse and Fryeburg Academy.

As a young girl, she won many awards and ribbons as a member of the Carrol County 4-H. In 1940, she met and married Miland “Mac” McAllister and made their first home in Chatham, near her parents. In 1953, Evelyn and Mac moved to Otisfield, where they raised two sons. A devoted wife and mother, Evelyn worked for many years alongside Mac at area summer camps. She loved her flower gardens and was known for her wedding cakes and excellent sewing skills.

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband; son Sherman; sister Phillis; and brother Bill Winslow.

Surviving are her son Keith McAllister of Otisfield; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

A spring graveside service will be held in Chatham, N.H.
