Eva H. Warren, 82

EAST BALDWIN — Eva H. Warren, 82, died on May 26, 2013, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland with family by her side.

She was born in Bridgton on Aug. 28, 1930, the daughter of James and Beatrice Berry Harmon. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Limington Academy. She started working at age 13 at Spraker’s Store in Limington, later known as Jongerden’s and now Sleepers Market.

Eva married the late C. Rodney Warren on Oct. 2, 1953 and moved to the farm in East Baldwin where she was always a devoted homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She and Rodney had belonged to the East Baldwin Couples Club and Eva enjoyed flower gardening in her spare time. She especially loved raising African violets. Eva was also a wonderful cook and was well known for her apple pie, one of which won a bake-off at Fryeburg Fair one year.

Above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. “Nannie’s coat pocket” would always contain candy when they were little. When they were older she always had “snack bags” for the grandchildren. Eva will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her son, Dwight Warren of East Baldwin; daughter, Jacklyn Dyer of Steep Falls; brother, William Harmon of Limington; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be on Friday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at the Steep Falls Cemetery. A gathering will follow at Jackie and Dan’s home in Steep Falls. Arrangements by Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home.
