Eugenie R. Brill

Eugenie R. Brill, 88, died on Nov. 22, 2012, at her home in Bridgton.

She was born in Bridgton on May 1, 1924, the daughter of Morris P. Graffam and Hannah R. Douglass Graffam. She was a graduate of Bridgton High School. Genie worked at several jobs throughout her life: the Bridgton Pondicherry Woolen Mill, Southworth Machine during WWII, and Down East in Bridgton. In 1980, she started Brill Lumber Company with her husband Gordon W. and sons, Steve and Scott. She retired as bookkeeper from Brill Lumber Co., Inc. in 2004. However, Genie’s favorite jobs were being a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of the Butterfly Group and Red Hat Society. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Janet Lawrence and husband Neil; son Stephen Brill and wife Joann; daughter Pamela Dyer and husband Roderick; son Scott Brill; grandchildren, Jeffrey Lawrence, Jonathan Brill, Stephanie Brill, Jennifer Googoo, Nicholas Dyer; great-grandchildren, Kristi Lawrence Hobbs, Ashley Lawrence, Matthew Brill, Bella Brill; best friends Nina Keene and sister Alberta Dieringer; many nieces, nephews and caregivers. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Gordon W. Brill, a son Harry Brill, granddaughter Rebecca Googoo, sister Charlotte Robinson, and brother Richard Graffam.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 26 at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 8 Elm Street, Bridgton, with interment at Forest Hills Cemetery.
