Erna M. Fournier

FARMINGTON — Erna Marie Fournier, 83, of Livermore Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at the Franklin Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1927, in Mannheim, Germany, a daughter of Herman and Marie Loeb. She attended school in Germany and moved to the United States after marrying Robert Fournier.

Mrs. Fournier worked as a homemaker to her husband and children until his death in the mid-1970s. She then went to work for G.H. Bass in Wilton.

She was a longtime communicant of St. Rose of Lima in Jay and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Her family and friends will undoubtedly miss the fruits of her labor in the kitchen as she was a wonderful cook over the years.

She is survived by her children, Gerhard “Gerry” Fournier of Livermore and Gilbert “Jill” Berry of Vero Beach, Fla.; a sister, Elfriede Loeb of Mannheim, Germany; three grandchildren including Erika Frank of Raymond; two great-grandchildren (and one on the way).

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and a brother, Karl Loeb.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 7, at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Road, Route 133, Jay with the Rev. Thomas Lequin officiating. Spring interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls.
