PORTLAND — Ellen Sharon Emery, 70, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011.

The daughter of Orville and Ida (Huston) Hutchins, she was born Sept. 4, 1940, in Haverhill, Mass. On Feb. 1, 1958, she married Norman Emery and was a stay at home mom raising six children.

She was active in foster parenting and volunteered as an EMT for the Lisbon ambulance.

She is survived by five sons, Norman Emery Jr. of North Carolina, Orville Emery of Conway, N.H., Dale Emery of Brownfield, Ricky Emery of North Carolina and Timothy Emery of Arundle; a daughter, Tamela Smit of Saco; two sisters, Sandra Wright and Brenda Yeaton; a brother, Donald Richardson; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; four brothers, Richard Hutchins, Edwin Hutchins, Neal Hutchins and Randy Richardson; and a sister, Sibil Pouliquin.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 476 Summit Street, Portland with Pastor Gary Quellette officiating. Interment will be private at the family’s convenience.
