YARMOUTH — Ellen Anne Maguire, 78, of Yarmouth, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2013, at her residence.

Ellen was born in Portland and raised on Cliff Island. She is the daughter of Myles Kenneth and Thelma O’Reilly McLeod.

She was educated in the Portland schools and graduated from Portland High School in 1952.

Mrs. Maguire was the treasurer of Robert’s Office Supply in Portland. She then spent a year as a cook on a ship in the Caribbean and later retired from Lokey’s Car dealership in Tampa, Fla.

Her hobbies included traveling and golfing.

She was predeceased by a son, Dennis Maguire in 2001.

Surviving are her son, Robert Maguire of Yarmouth; a brother, Myles McLeod of Harrison; two sisters, Sharon Hiltonen of Cliff Island and Naples, Fla. and Janice Stevens of Rangeley; and two grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Yarmouth in the spring.
