Elizabeth Wescott

LEBANON — Elizabeth “Liz” Grass Wescott, 61, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, after a long struggle with Muscular Dystrophy.

She was born on March 9, 1956, in Portsmouth, N.H.; a daughter of Jane Robertson Grass and Calvin F. Grass.

She attended schools in Fairhaven, Vt., Stoneridge, N.Y., Sebago Lake, and graduated from Bonny Eagle High School in 1974.

During high school, Liz was an active member of and Past Worthy Advisor of Windham Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls. As Grand Representative, she traveled to Colorado to represent the state of Maine at the Colorado State Assembly. She was a longtime member of Dawn of Hope Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

She graduated from Hesser College with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science. She then worked as a home health aide for several years.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bruce K. Wescott; her sons, David B. Wescott, Jonathan C. Wescott, and Michael A. Wescott. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Jane R. Grass; her brothers, Calvin F. Grass II and wife Debbie, Gregory E. Grass and wife Cheryl; and her sisters, Miriam G. Walker and husband Peter, Rebecca Boerner and fiancé Chuck Fisher.

The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.H., for their outstanding care of Liz.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., on July 29, at Sebago Lake Congregational Church, 410 Northeast Road, Standish, ME 04084, with the Rev. Dr. Michael Glidden officiating.

Interment followed the reception at Arlington Cemetery, North Windham. All attending the memorial service were invited to the interment.
