Elizabeth M. Condon, 30

Elizabeth Condon

KENNEBUNKPORT — Elizabeth Markham “Liz” Condon, 30, died unexpectedly in her sleep on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Elizabeth was born on March 25, 1987, in Biddeford, the beloved daughter of Scott A. Condon and Susan Kajander Condon.

Liz grew up in Kennebunkport, but attended Wells Schools, where her mother was a teacher. She graduated from Wells High School, where she was a cheerleader, in 2005 and went on to earn a bachelor of arts degree in History from University of Maine, Orono. She worked, since she was a young teenager, at her family’s business — Alisson’s Restaurant in Kennebunkport — where her impeccable work ethic and lovable personality endeared her to staff and patrons, alike.

Liz packed a whole lifetime into her 30 years. Bursting with light and energy, she brought a dazzling zest for living to everything she did and to everyone she knew. A sunny and spirited nonconformist, Liz possessed a wonderful sense of humor and wit, as well as a keenly-intelligent, inquisitive mind. Liz loved books and read voraciously since her earliest childhood. Music, too, brought her tremendous joy and going to live concerts was one of her favorite activities. Liz loved so much about life — food and fun, her friends and her family. One dear friend remembers her “passionate and infectious spirit” and describes her as a “rare breed” — “beautifully carefree and genuine.”

To know Liz was to love her. She will forever inspire all of us to shine more brightly and live more fully.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Albert and Maxine Kajander of Winchester, Mass.; and paternal grandparents, Frances and Beatrice Condon, of Kennebunkport.

She is survived by her mother, Susan, of Kennebunkport; her father, Scott and wife, Jan, of Bridgton; her sister, Katharine Condon Barry of Merrimack, N.H., and two nephews and niece; her aunts and uncles, as well as 10 cousins.

A celebration of Liz’s life was held on the Village Green, Ocean Avenue, Kennebunkport (across from Silas Perkins Park and the Arundel Yacht Club) on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth’s name may be made to Louis T. Graves Memorial Library, 18 Maine Street, Kennebunkport, ME 04046, or to a charity of your choice.
