Eleanor M. Gammon

LIMINGTON — Eleanor Maude Gammon, 87, formerly of Moody Road, died on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at the Freeport Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born in West Baldwin on Nov. 29, 1923, the daughter of Lester and Mildred Warren Dearborn. She attended local schools and graduated from Potter Academy in Sebago in 1942.
She married Raymond E. Gammon on June 5, 1943, and they were married for 58 years, until his death in 2001.
She was a hard worker and worked for many years at the Cornish Dress Shop. She was also a devoted homemaker and an excellent cook. She was always cooking something for someone.
Eleanor was a longtime member of the South Limington Baptist Church and was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Limington.
Besides her parents and beloved husband, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Clarence Dearborn. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Jensen, of Cumberland; a sister, Ruth Morton, of Standish; and also many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, at 3 p.m., at the South Limington Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery on Moody Road. Arrangements by Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home, Cornish.
