SCARBOROUGH — Eleanor A. Young, 86, of Denmark, passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at Gosnell House.

She was born in Tamworth, N.H., on April 15, 1929. She graduated from Denmark High School and married Richard J. Young. She had been employed as an inspector for a dowel mill as well as various other factories. She enjoyed music. She loved her granddaughters, especially being “Meme.”

She is survived by her daughter Lori Cavanaugh; her son Richard Young; her granddaughters Molly Cavanaugh and Megan Cavanaugh; a brother Donald Monson; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Richard in 1980; and her brothers Alfred and Gene.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Denmark Congregational Church, followed by burial at Barre Cemetery in Denmark. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 477 Congress St., Suite M1, Portland, ME 04101.
