KENNEBUNK — Eileen Marie (Lizotte) Kelly, 85, passed away suddenly at Huntington Common Assisted Living in Kennebunk, on June 10, 2014.

She was born on June 19, 1928, in Providence, R.I.. She was the daughter of Edward Lizotte and Florence (Brooks) Lizotte, both of Providence, R.I.

Eileen spent many of her childhood years on Bungay (Greenwood) Lake in North Attleboro, Mass. It was there, at the age of 12, that she met her husband to be, Earl Kelly, and swore that she was going to marry him some day. They did marry on April 19, 1947, after Earl returned home from the Air Force following World War II. After residing with the Kelly family in Boston for five years, in 1953 they built a house at 57 Cedar Street in Foxboro, Mass., where they remained for over 60 years. For twenty-five years they also enjoyed their second home on Long Lake in Bridgton.

Eileen adored her house and yard and would spend many hours tending her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved to cook and you could always count on a good home-cooked meal or a barbeque by the pool. She enjoyed her many crafts that included sewing, knitting and macramé. Her love of music motivated her to learn to play the organ in the seventies, which she did for many years. Earl and Eileen loved to socialize and frequently dined out with their family and many friends. She loved animals of all kinds, especially her toy poodle, and would never miss feeding the outdoor birds.

Her last eight months at Huntington Common brought joy to many people. She made numerous friends with residents and staff and was described as a “bright light” at Huntington Common.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Earl Robert Kelly, of Boston, Mass., and a brother, William Vincent Lizotte, of Palo Alto, Calif.

She is survived by her two children: her son, David E. Kelly, and his wife, Deanna Davis Kelly, of Denmark, and her daughter, Deborah E. Kelly, and companion, Alan W. Hannon, of Conway, N.H. She was the loving grandmother of Jessica Lyn (Kelly) Sullivan and her husband, Conor Sullivan, of Berwick; and great-grandmother to their children, Melia, Rowan, Kai and Gunner. She is also survived by her brothers, John E. Lizotte, of Ocean Side, Calif., and Brian Lizotte, of Pahrump, Nev.; her sisters, Gloria Battistello and husband John of Norton, Mass., and Patricia Carlon and husband Merle of Attleboro, Mass.; along with many nieces and nephews.

A private service and celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.

Mom, we will always love you and miss you.
