NAPLES — Edwin R. Cassidy, 86, of Naples passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Nov. 11, 2011.

He served four years in the Merchant Marines during WWII.

Edwin loved traveling to Daytona Beach, Fla. in spring and fall with his wife. Together, they enjoyed going to country and western shows in Tennessee.

He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Lois; his son, Edwin R. Jr. of Salem, N.H.; two daughters, Sherol J. Miner of Westerly, R.I. and Linda J. Brown of Naples; three brothers, Richard of Merritt Island, Fla., David of Holbrook, Mass. and Robert of Marshfield, Mass.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no services. Contributions in his name may be made to Southern Maine Hospice, 180 US Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074.
