Edward N. Tibbetts Sr.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Edward Nathaniel Tibbetts Sr., 81, of Boiling Spring Lakes, N.C., died on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C.

Mr. Tibbetts was born on Dec. 28, 1930, in Albany, the son of the late Fred H. and Louiza Cummings Tibbetts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the time of the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Tibbetts moved to North Carolina 15 years ago from Buxton. Mr. Tibbetts loved spending time with family, tinkering and working in his shop, square dancing and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Tibbetts.

Surviving are three sons, Edward Tibbetts Jr. of Waterboro, Alexander C. Tibbetts of Sebago and Ronald C. Tibbetts of Gorham; two stepsons, Forrest Sanborn of Limerick and Robert Sanborn of Arizona; two stepdaughters, Marcia McAllister of Sanford and Joleen Carter of Florida; a sister Marjorie Wesleigh of Bethel; and four grandchildren.
