Edgar ‘Rebel’ Bailey Jr., 88

HARRISON — Edgar “Rebel” Bailey Jr., 88, of Harrison, formerly of Smithfield, Rhode Island, died Sunday, Nov. 4 at his home in Harrison with his family by his side. He was born in Ged, Louisiana on Jan. 28, 1924, the son of Edgar Sr. and Virginia Myers Bailey. He faithfully served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Elizabeth Annable on March 25, 1944. He had been employed as a lineman for Narragansett Electric for many years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2929 in Smithfield, Rhode Island.

He is survived by two sons, Bryan Bailey of Nashville, Tennessee, and Glenn Bailey of Harrison; a daughter, Robin Mayes and her husband Bruce of Harrison; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, A.J. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m.  at Acote’s Cemetery in Chepachet, Rhode Island. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home,   Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, Rhode Island.
