SOUTH PORTLAND — Doris M. O’Brien, 95, of South Portland, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Doris was born on Nov. 20, 1920, in Augusta, the daughter of Carroll and Marion (Slater) Burns Sr. A graduate of Cony High School, Doris moved to South Portland in 1943. A hard-working woman always quick with a smile, Doris’ focus in life was taking care of her large family and providing a loving home.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Sandra Blaszak of East Aurora, N.Y., Sharon O'Brien of South Portland and Kathy McLeod of Raymond; her sons, Michael of Westbrook, Anson of Cumberland, Gary of South Portland and Ronald of South Portland; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Doris was predeceased by a son, Bruce; her husband, William; a grandson; and her siblings, Carroll Burns Jr., Marion McLaughlin and Eliza Lajoie.
