Donna M. Minott, 63

 

SOUTH CASCO — Donna Marie Minott, 63, lost her battle with cancer at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, Auburn, on Monday, Nov. 9, 2015.

She was born in Peabody, Mass., on May 31, 1952, to Theodore and Emma Minott.

Donna was a charter member of Bible Believing Baptist Church in Gray, where she loved to plan and execute meals for church functions. She was most happy when she was planning and hosting the agenda for the Ladies Christmas Party. Her fun-loving spirit was contagious and much laughter occurred during these occasions.

Some of Donna’s interests included but were not limited to scrapbooking, cardmaking, going out to eat with friends, working at the food banks in Casco and Naples, and just plain old having fun!

Donna began her employment with the Windham School Department on Oct. 31, 1988, as a school bus driver and during the summer, often did custodial work, as well. Donna loved her job, but especially enjoyed driving for the many field trips and sporting events when it was her turn.

Donna was a member of the MEA, Maine Educators Association, the NEA, National Educators Association and the RSU 14 support staff.

She enjoyed driving at the bus rodeo competitions and brought home a trophy for all her efforts!

Donna retired from the Windham School Department in June 2015, and was honored by her supervisor and coworkers with many cards and well wishes.

She was predeceased by siblings Teddy, Betty, and Bernie.

She is survived by son, Eric Minott; sister, Priscilla Minott Clapp; and other extended family.

A memorial visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Bible Believing Baptist Church, 92 Center Road, Gray, where a memorial service was be held at 5 p.m. Pastor Vail officiated.
