FRYEBURG — Donald Stephen Seeley, 75, of Fryeburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his home in Fryeburg.

Don was born on Dec. 5, 1942, to Elizabeth (Small) Seeley Bennett and Clarence Bennett. He was born and raised in Portland, and graduated from Portland High School in 1961.

On July 4, 1966, he married Norma Hanscom in Norway. They made their home in Portland and Windham for a short time before building a home and settling in Fryeburg in 1971. After retiring from sales in 2012, he continued to work part-time at Hannaford Supermarket in North Conway, N.H.

Don was a loving and hardworking family man. He loved being outdoors and walking. In the warmer months, Don spent much of his time walking around town, sometimes several times a day, or sitting and enjoying the sunshine with his beloved dog, JJ. In the colder months, he loved watching football and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. “Grampa” loved spending time with his grandkids and his grandpups throughout his retirement years. He was also a special and loved uncle to his nieces and nephew. Don was a twin to his sister Donna and was very proud and blessed to welcome two more generations of twins into his family; twin grandsons in 2009 and twin great-grandsons in 2017.

Don is loved by his wife, Norma of Fryeburg; his children, David Seeley of Glen Burnie, Md., Christopher Seeley of Gulfport, Miss., and Rebecca Seeley-Dolan of Scarborough; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephew.
