BRIDGTON — Donald E. Sicotte, 78, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, surrounded by his family at Bridgton Hospital.

He was born in Waltham, Mass., and moved to Framingham, Mass., after marrying his high school sweetheart in 1958. He served as an Auxillary Framingham Police officer for over 20 years. He and his family enjoyed summers in Sebago, where they had a summer home until building his retirement home in 1990. He was a self-employed contractor in home decorating and he was an avid woodworker, making many heirloom pieces for his family and friends. He was passionate about fishing, making most of his flies and would write articles in On the Water magazine and had a regular column in The Bridgton News, titled, “Dropping a Line.” He also served as the president for Sebago Lake Anglers for six years, developing the largest membership the club had known.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Ida Sicotte (Richards); and a sister, Elaine Raguso .

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma Sicotte (Vienneau); a sister, Carol Logsdon; three children, Dana Sicotte, Mark Sicotte and Jill Rollins; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. An Ecumenical service will be held Saturday, Nov. 21st, at North Sebago United Methodist Church, 820 Sebago Rd., Route 114, Sebago. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m., with services at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald's name to Bridgton Hospital.
