Diane Goosetrey

RAYMOND — Diane Joyce Ashbey Goosetrey, 78, died at her home in Raymond on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016.

Diane was born on May 18, 1938, in Montclair, N.J., to Charles Agustus and Elizabeth Fern Ashbey.

Diane graduated from Sargent College of Boston University with a degree in nursing, and worked as a traveling operating room nurse from Boston to Washington, D.C., from her home base of Monmouth, N.J.

She then moved to Old Bridge, N.J., where she was active as a town committee and council member.

Diane was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star and enjoyed arts and crafts as well as gardening.

She eventually moved to Maine, and was an active member of Raymond Village Community Church, where she played the organ and directed the men’s choir for many years.

Diane is survived by her son, John; and was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Thomas; and daughter, Fern Elizabeth Goosetrey.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held in July 2017 for family and friends.
