Diane G. Bean, 61

BAKER CITY, OREGON — Diane Giséle Bean, 61, died on Monday, March 21, 2016, at her home after battling cancer since Nov. 2015, with her husband of 44 years at her side, in Baker City, Oregon.

Diane was born to parents Gérard and Edna (Dion) Dupont on June 21, 1954. She was raised in Gilead, Maine. She attended a private catholic school until 9th grade, and graduated from Telstar Regional High School in Bethel. She married the love of her life, John Bean, in 1971. They had three children, Johnny, Jessica and Justin.

Diane attended college at OHSU and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Nursing. She had worked at Saint Elizabeth Hospital/Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Baker City, Ore., for the past 18 years as Nursing Supervisor in the ER.

She enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, fishing, camping, hiking and speaking French with her granddaughter. Diane especially enjoyed the music of singer Celine Dion. In January, her friends and family surprised her with a trip to Las Vegas to see Celine perform in concert, and enjoyed a greeting from her after the show.

Diane will be remembered for her selflessness, her kindness, her warm smile and the sound of her laugh. Those who knew her best would say, “I was blessed because I was loved by you. I am everything I am because you loved me.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gérard and Edna Dupont.

Diane is survived by her husband John of Baker City, Ore.; sons John and his wife Stephani of Preston, Conn., and Justin and his wife Annetta of Kalispell, Mont.; her daughter Jessica and her husband Casey Dudek of Aloha, Ore.; four grandchildren; brothers, André Dupont and his wife Eileen of Gorham, N.H., Richard Dupont of Fort Myers, Fla.; and sisters, Lise and her husband Stephen McLain of Gilead, Maine, and Aline Dupont of Bethel, Maine.
