Dexter Bresette

LOVELL — Dexter L. Bresette, 81, of Lovell, passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.

Dexter served in the U.S. Army as Motor Pool Sergeant and was stationed in Buffalo, NY. A longtime resident of Lovell, he owned and operated Bresette & Sons Logging. A jack-of-all trades, he also operated Bresette’s Garage. He was extremely mechanical and loved tinkering, and he enjoyed gardening, having planted and maintained a large vegetable garden every year. A true Mainer, he loved the outdoors and found sanctuary among the trees and while fishing and boating on the lakes in the surrounding area. Dexter loved playing his guitar, and sharing his music and quick wit with anyone willing to listen.

Dexter and his first wife Ruth instilled a love of music in his children from a young age: an appreciation that has passed on to his grandchildren. Dexter was predeceased by his first wife of 39 years, Ruth I. Harmon Bresette, as well as his second wife of 17 years, Corille J. Grover Bresette; his siblings Norman and Mervin Bresette, Katherene Saunders and Dot Kilgore.

Dexter is survived by his children, Glen Bresette and his wife Sharon, Dolores Deschambeault and her husband Lee, Laurie Panno and her husband Victor, Chris Bresette and his wife Christy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristy and Nick Bresette, Jeanne Deschambeault, Dyce and Sullivyn Panno and Madison, Solana, and Nelson Bresette, Cade McAlister and Ruthie Bresette, due in April. Dexter also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, beloved friends and J.R., his loyal four-legged companion of nearly 15 years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9, at 11 a.m. at the Lovell United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation online to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice at: http://www.ahch.org/Ways-to-Give/Gifts-of-Remembrance/Gifts-of-Remembrance-Form
