Deborah Ward

HARRISON — Deborah Jean (Lund) Ward was born July 12, 1951, to Ralph Johnson and Olga Marie Lund, and departed Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015.

Deb grew up in S. Portland, creating wonderful childhood memories with her family, including a sister Donna and brothers Wayne and Leland. Deb moved to Naples in the 70s, where she raised her biggest accomplishments, Paul, Stacey and Joey. Deb was a proud mom, active in every part of her kids’ lives, whether it be leading girl or boy scouts, teaching Sunday School, cheering at sports event, attending dance recitals, school gatherings or road tripping —she was always their biggest fan.

Deb moved to Harrison in the 90s with the love of her life, George E. Ward, and across the street from her beloved father-in-law George A. Ward (this was the real deal sealer). George and Deb married on Aug. 12, 1994. They enjoyed riding motorcycles and their convertible all over but especially to Bar Harbor, dinners, car races, plays, movies, evenings in together and time with friends and family. Deb also loved to walk for miles and hours, and if you looked fast (because that was her pace) you could catch a glimpse of her on most sunny afternoons enjoying the beautiful Naples Causeway. Deb made a life change, joining Weight Watchers, removing extra pounds to become a proud lifetime member and later a Weight Watcher Leader to many new friends.

Deb was also most recently employed by Dodge Oil Company; she was for many years the smiling face on the corner or Rte. 11 and Rte. 302. Deb was greeted with open arms at the Pearly Gates by her son Paul Lincoln Robinson Jr., her parents, sister and father-in-law.

She leaves behind her husband George and children, Christopher Ward, Bobby and Stacey Robinson Green, Michael and Florence Ward and Joseph Robinson (Jill and Dahlia); her next generation of joy, grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley-Anne, Adam, Aaron, Neeley, Joey, Tristan, Trevor, Evan and Lucy; siblings Wayne (Liz, Rebecca, Carmichael, Graham, Adam), Leland (Susan) Lund, Donna’s girls (Dawn, Alyssa and Rhianna); and many other special family and friends.

2015 was an unexpectedly hard year for Deb but she was blessed to be taken care of by the wonderful team at Bridgton Hospital Oncology, relaxed by the comforting people at On Eagles Wings, and in awe of the MANY people that went above and beyond to share their love and lend a helping hand. Deb was a fan of life who radiated warmth and strength to all that were lucky enough to know her.

We will be celebrating Deb and her loving strong spirit at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Naples United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the amazing On Eagles Wings 236 Portland Rd, Bridgton, ME 04009, http://oneagleswings2.com/Home_Page.html.
