AUBURN — Dean Gray, 82, of Bridgton, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born in Harrison on May 9, 1931, the son of Donald and Eda Rideout Gray.

He attended Harrison schools and owned his own sawmill at the age of 17. He had been a master plumber for many years as well as having owned and operated a campground for 45 years — this was the joy of his life. He built cottages and homes. He had been the plumbing inspector for the Town of Harrison from 1978 to 1988, and served on the Appeals Board from 1972 to 1986.

He is survived by his significant other of 16 years, Charlotte Wentworth; his daughters, Robin Gray Hamlin and Ruth Fleck; a half-sister, Linda Houghton; grandchildren, Inga Smith, Darcy Hiatt and Nathan Fleck; six great-grandchildren; and a close family friend, Rick Rand.
