Dawn M. Priestman, 93

CASCO – Dawn M. Priestman, 93, wife of the late Harden C. Priestman, passed away Dec. 8, 2019, in Casco.

She was born Oct. 13, 1926, in Brownville Jct., the daughter of Daniel E. and Mattie H. (Philbrook) Washburn. Dawn was a devoted wife to her husband, and cared for him for many years after an accident left him unable to manage on his own. She was a generous mother and grandmother.

Dawn had been a member of the Brownville Jct. United Methodist Church for many years, where she had served as choir director for both the adult and children’s choirs. She was a member of O.E.S. and had served that organization as treasurer, warden, and organist. She was a nominee for the Jefferson Award from 1989-1991.

Dawn is survived by two sons, Daniel Priestman of Lansdale, Penn., and Larry Priestman of Dayton; a daughter, Esther Fitzmorris of Harrison; a sister, Charlotte Gerrish of Brownville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre- deceased by three brothers, Leigh, Paul, and Kenneth; and two sisters, Madelyn DeSchamps and Dorothy Snow.

Dawn’s family would like to extend many thanks to the staff at Country Village Assisted Living for providing care, comfort, and support to Dawn during her time at their facility.
