David L. Swan, 72

David Lowell “Skip” Swan, 72, of Bridgton, Maine, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Marsh-wood Center in Lewiston.

He was born Nov. 11, 1946, in North Reading, Massachusetts to Elmer Lowell Swan and Adelaide Titus Swan.

He married Frances Louise Swan on July 1, 1978.

He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1965, and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a proud veteran and went out of his way to thank any veteran he saw for their service. He had many jobs, a jack-of-all-trades, but was most proud of his work at the YMCA in Portland. He was able to help those in need, and those struggling with drugs and alcohol. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his friends and family. David was a devoted Christian and shared God’s love faithfully until the very end.

He is survived by his daughter Tracy Bailey Reynolds of Jeffersonville, Indiana; a son David Bailey and his wife Jeanette of Neoga, Illinois, and his daughters Ryan and Emily; a daughter Sarah Swan of Lewiston, Maine, and her sons Tyler, Jacob, Connor and Marcel; a son Matthew Swan of New Orleans, Louisiana; a son Andrew Swan and his wife Amanda Swan of Bridgton, and their daughters Aleah and Addilyn; a son Kyle Swan, also of Bridgton; his brother Richard; his sister Jeanne Herman of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Frances in 2007; his father Elmer; and his mother Adelaide.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m., at Grace Fellowship Church at 29 Poplar Street, Oxford, Maine.
