WINDHAM — David F. Rhodes, 74, of Windham, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016.

He was born on April 24, 1941 in Portland, the son of Sidney J. and Madeleen (Sorenson) Rhodes. David was married to his sweetheart, Laura J. (McLellan) Rhodes.

David graduated from Deering High School in 1959. He retired from Southworth Products Inc. after 45 years of employment. He was a Past Master of Presumpscot Lodge #70 A.M. and F.M., 32nd degree member of Valley of Portland Scottish Rites, member of Kora Shriners, member of the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club, and a member of NRA.

His interests included deer hunting, trap shooting, enjoying music, and feeding birds. He was an avid reader and loved spending time with his dog, Molly.

Surviving along with his wife of 55 years are their three children, daughters, Lisa Douglass of Windham and Amy Young of Standish, and son, Fredrick Rhodes of Falmouth; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; sister, Linda (Rhodes) Adams of Naples; an aunt, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

David was predeceased by his parents.

A ritualistic service was conducted by the Presumpscot Lodge #70 at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, followed by a memorial service. Burial will take place in the spring at Arlington Cemetery, Windham.
