MELBOURNE, FLA. — David F. Harmon, 67, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Holmes Heart Center in Melbourne, Fla. He was with his wife and daughter at the time of his passing.

Dave was born in Bridgton and graduated from Fryeburg Academy before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Dave served in Vietnam as a Helicopter Crew Chief. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Dave lived for 18 years in Sweden, and relocated to Bradford in 1988. He worked for GE in Bangor until his retirement in 2009.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Joyce Harmon; a son, David Frank Harmon Jr.; four uncles and an aunt; a cousin and a nephew.

Dave is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maxine (Stuart) Harmon; daughter, Jill Harmon; sister, Elizabeth (Harmon) Noble; brother, Milton Harmon; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

At Dave’s request, there will be no formal services, but family and friends will gather for a remembrance of his life at Sebago Lake State Park on June 4 at 1 p.m. We invite all who knew Dave and would like to express their condolences to attend.
