David Fadden Sr.

David C. Fadden Sr., 62, of Bridgton, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, after a brave fight with cancer. He died peacefully at home, with his loving wife and children by his side.

David was born Sept. 21, 1953, in Lewiston, the fourth and youngest child of Reginald (deceased) and Edna Fadden.

He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1971, and Suma Cum Laude from Southern Maine University with a degree in Political Science.

David enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1976, retiring a Major after 24 years. He was a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield, and also served as Logistics Officer for the Marine Corps Marathon.

David married the love of his life, Anne-Marie (Hes) on Dec. 21, 1981, in Little Rock, Ark., and together they shared 35 wonderful years.  He was blessed with a wife and four children who loved him deeply.

David will be remembered as a man with a kind and loving nature, whose beautiful, bright smile brought joy to so many. He was an extraordinary husband, father, son, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Anne-Marie P. Fadden of Bridgton; his mother, Edna Fadden of Bridgton; his four children, Eleonore Fadden, and her fiance, Andrew Whetzel of Stafford, Va., David C. Fadden Jr., and his wife, Kate Fadden of Chesapeake, Va., Madeleine Carter, and her husband, Derek Carter of Bridgton, and Victoria Fadden of Bridgton; his five grandchildren, Vanessa, Leo, David the 3rd, Abigail, and Emilia; his three siblings, Sandra Carsley, and her husband, Leonard of Bridgton, Bruce Fadden, and his wife, Bente of Bridgton, and Reginald J. Fadden Jr., and his wife, Kathleen of Rolesville, N.C.

David will be loved, remembered, and missed by countless family members, friends, and members of the community.

Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8th, at Chandler Funeral Homes (formerly Raymond-Wentworth Funeral Home), 8 Elm Street, Bridgton. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., at Chandler Funeral Homes on Friday, Sept. 9. Donations may be made to Harvest Hills Animal Shelter (Fryeburg), in honor of David's love for animals, especially his beloved kitties.
