“…The new law, which goes into effect July 1, allows licensed gun owners in Georgia and visitors from 28 other states to bring a gun into a bar without restrictions and carry a firearm into some government buildings that don't have security measures. It also allows school districts to decide whether they want some employees to carry a firearm and religious leaders to decide whether to allow licensed gun owners to tote to their church, synagogue or mosque…”

Frankly, My Dear, I Don’t Give a Damn

In Georgia, our guns are just peachy,

In Georgia, our guns are our friends,

Don’t make us fire, we beseech you!

— Will we? Well, that depends.

Might plug you plumb dead in church,

Or serve you some lead in a bar —

We won’t even warn you at first,

Since you’d phone for a getaway car.

May shoot up some pinheads in court,

Off the bums in the State House, too,

Defending a man’s right to resort

To a gun and a shot and a brew.

In Georgia, every man’s for himself

In Georgia, every man must be free —

Who gives a damn ’bout public health? —

Your life doesn’t matter to me.

In Georgia, our guns are just peachy,

In Georgia, our guns are our soul —

And the very last lesson we'll teach you

Is a thirty-eight calibre hole.

Mike Corrigan already has several holes in his head. He lives in Lewiston, where it’s a source of constant amazement to all that he hasn’t been shot dead two or three times already.
