STANDISH — Dale C. Mundee, 60, of Standish, passed away with his wife and children at his side, on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at the Maine Medical Center after a very brave, yearlong battle with AML Leukemia.

Dale was born on Nov. 22, 1953, in Portland, the son of Calvin C. and Alberta M. (Peavey) Mundee. Dale grew up in South Portland and graduated from South Portland High School.

Dale married the former Linda A. Whalen and together they had two children, Joshua D., his best friend, and Jennifer L., his little Jenny Bean. He was so proud of both.

Dale was most recently a petroleum transport, tanker-trailer, truck driver for Irving Oil. He drove for them for over 21 years and made many good friends there in his fellow drivers.

Dale loved to ride his Harley, snowmobile, and work on automotive projects in the garage with Josh. Most recently, they enjoyed target practice shooting. Dale was a member of the National Rifle Association and believed strongly in his Second Amendment Right.

Dale was predeceased by his father, Calvin Mundee.

Dale is survived by his mother, Alberta Mundee of South Portland; his very loving wife of 32 years, who was with him every step of the way during his illness, Linda Mundee of Standish; son, Joshua Mundee of Standish; loving daughter, Jennifer Mundee of Portland; sister, Diane Wildes of Cape Porpoise; brother, David Mundee (his hero and stem cell donor) of Cumberland Center; sister, Debbie Rand of Raymond; brother, Donald Mundee of Standish; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a service at 12 p.m. at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland. Online condolences may be shared at www.hobbsfuneralhome.com
