Conrad Hartford

HIRAM — Conrad B. Hartford, 80, of Hiram, died peacefully and with dignity on Friday, Dec., 12, 2014, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Connie was born in Hiram on March 31, 1934, the son of Grover C. and Mildred (Douglas) Hartford. He attended Hiram schools and graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 1951.
Connie worked for Raytheon, in Waltham, Mass., W. H. Hinman Construction, in Littleton, N.H., and General Electric, in Limerick, before finally returning to the life he loved on the Hartford Farm in Hiram.
On June 27, 1959, he married the love of his life, Jane Lewis, making their home in Hiram.
Connie was a very dedicated and passionate town servant, holding many positions: Fire department, EMT/Rescue, Planning Board and he was privileged to hold the office of Selectman for the past six years.
Connie will always be remembered for his wry sense of humor, always bringing laughter to any gathering.
Besides his wife, Jane, he is survived by his sister Evelyn Bishop, Shelby, N.C.; godchildren: Ryan Randall, Hiram, Alyson Randall, Naples, their son Preston, and Sonja Randall, Hartford, Conn. Connie is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
At Connie's request there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Watson, Neal & York.
