Connor King

MECHANIC FALLS — Connor James King, 24, of Mechanic Falls has joined his grandparents Peter, Judy and Raymond.
A graduate of Poland Regional High School, Connor was passionate about baseball, football, and weight training growing up and was proud to be a member of the St. Joseph’s College baseball program for two seasons. He was grateful for the support of Coach Sanborn and his teammates, as he manned the bull pen for the team. Following graduation in 2015 from St. Joseph’s College of Maine with his bachelor’s degree in business, Connor completed a year of law school at Roger Williams in Rhode Island.
Since college, Connor developed a love for the Maine outdoors. He looked forward to smelting season with his buddy Bob Pomerleau, and listened carefully to any hunting tips he could take from his Uncle Rob Parsons. Connor was a responsible hunter and was respectful of everything he harvested. He was proud of his first shot fired that landed a 10-point buck that he named Joe, “Joe Buck.”
On the athletic field and in life, Connor was a hard worker and led by example. He will be missed by his immediate and his large extended family. Connor was extremely close with his younger sister, Carly, and enjoyed taking her on aimless excursions across the Maine countryside. He loved his cousins and all the family adventures. His smile lit up photos in countless canoe, kayak and hiking trips. He was intelligent and had an amazing ability to recall dates and statistics and to change the mood of a room with his incredible sense of humor.
Connor’s journey has included his pals Mike McHugh and Cam Eggeman. He was kept in line by his love, whom he adored, Gabriella Winslow of Parsonsfield. Connor recently passed his Physical Agility Test and was excited to apply for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy to pursue a career in law enforcement, following his Uncle Bruce King of Venice, Florida.
Connor is survived by his parents. Don and Shirley; sister Carly; grandmother, Janette (Mimi) Parsons; aunts and uncles: Bruce and Alyson King, Rob and Morgan Parsons, Heather and John Langelier. Cousins:Alexia and Julia King, Haylee and Sophia Parsons, Cody Norton and Kayla Fogg.
