Charlotte Slocumb

WINDHAM — Charlotte A. Slocomb, 75, formerly of West Baldwin, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Ledgewood Manor in Windham, where she was a resident for over two and a half years.

Charlotte was born in Portland, the daughter of Walter and Annie “Veinott” Marr, where she was educated and a graduate of Portland High School.

She married Stanley Slocomb.

Mrs. Slocomb enjoyed bingo, line dancing with all her Ledgewood friends, and playing on the computer. She also had a great love for animals of all types.

She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Slocomb on July 5, 2002; her oldest son, Richard Allen Marr on Oct. 24, 2009; and a great grandson in March of 2013.

Survivors include daughters Donna Hansen of Raymond, Ruth Ann Terison of Falmouth, Patricia Bragdon of Yarmouth, Sylvia McCarthay of Jonesport and Roberta Smith of Gorham; son John Hansen of South Carolina; a niece; several grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren.

A visiting hour was celebrated from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Hobbs Funeral Home 230 Cottage South Portland, Maine 04106. A funeral service followed at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment took place at Forest City Cemetery.
